Having been born and raised in New Orleans, this spunky bride couldn’t bear the thought of leaving after the tragedy of Katrina. She and her mom stayed put even after the rest of their family moved to Houston.
The epitome of high school sweethearts, Asia has known her fiancé’ since they were 15. It was ten years after their initial meeting when Ryan proposed during a weekend getaway in Las Vegas.
Wanting the wedding to be as vibrant and colorful as the bride, Asia came in asking for sexy gold gown. Yes, a GOLD gown. To top it off, the wedding is to have a peacock theme for its color palette. I really had my work cut out for me on this one. In the end Asia chose a beautiful Sophia Moncelli gown in ivory that really accentuated her hourglass figure and created the perfect base for jeweled-toned peacock accents.
Here’s my very rough sketch outlining Asia’s Bridal Blueprint.
Asia wanted a gold gown and peacock colors for her wedding. I felt that all these bright colors would take away from Asia’s beauty if not used properly. I wanted to incorporate these colors to make her happy, but brought them in through the makeup on the eyes and face to bring the attention to Asia’s glowing face. Adding a sparkling crystal edged veil by Erin Cole framed her face beautifully.
We added an intricately beaded and sparkling belt (Delphine) by Desla Couture to accent Asia’s waist and give a little more “bling” to her look.
This gorgeous jeweled hair ribbon by Maria Elena adorned Asia’s hair.
These Thomas Knoell chandelier earrings (Gladys) framed Asia’s face beautifully. She looked regal and angelic!
A crystal bracelet by Margaret Rowe added even more bling.
A bouquet of brightly colored orange roses, purple hydrangea, and peacock feathers was perfect for Asia’s jewel-toned peacock wedding theme.
