Native American bride Kellie wanted to honor her Lakota tribe’s heritage by finding a gown to coordinate with the handcrafted earrings and hair clip she was planning on wearing on her big day. With her 10-year-old fashionista daughter Micah in tow, Kellie came to me for help. After first trying a princess ball gown to appease Micah and another gown with a sexier silhouette, everyone agreed the Dennis Basso gown that Kellie chose was perfect. However, feeling guilty over the price of the gown made it hard for Kellie say yes to this gown. After reassurance from her mom and Micah that she deserved to treat herself on her wedding day, Kellie finally said, “YES”.
Along with my hair and makeup team of Lindsay Yamashita and Raychel Wade, we gave Kellie her “Head to Hem” makeover.
Since she was walking down the aisle with Kellie, I surprised Micah with her own Bridal Blueprint for HER wedding day look!
A tiered veil from Toni Federici played off the tiered ruffled skirt.
Soft, dewy makeup in blush and pinks complimented Kellie’s blush colored gown and her handcrafted Native American earrings.
I incorporated Kellie’s hair jewelry into a sash to accentuate her waist and create a focal point. A bouquet in similar colors completed Kellie’s overall look.
